The Climate Friendly Cooling Campaign empowers people, businesses, and organizations to:
(1) purchase energy efficient products that do not contain high global warming potential (high GWP) hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) chemicals; and
(2) minimize HFC emissions during maintenance, servicing, and product end-of-life.
HFCs are often powerful greenhouse gases, with thousands of times the warming impact of CO2. For this reason, they are being phased down under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and banned in many regions. Fortunately, many energy efficient options using climate-friendly refrigerants are available.
We invite businesses, organizations, government agencies, and others who purchase, own, operate, and/or maintain cooling products and equipment--things like refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, air conditioners, refrigerated display cases, vending machines, office water coolers--to pledge to buy energy efficient products with climate-friendly refrigerants.
Like-minded suppliers, non-governmental organizations, service providers, and others supportive of the Climate Friendly Cooling Campaign's objectives are encouraged to use ClimateFriendlyCooling.com and help get the word out. Contact us to learn more or discuss partnership opportunities. There is no cost to participate or use the Climate Friendly Cooling Campaign resources.
